Obama Futures Draw Overseas Investors

Laura Inghraham reported that someone in the Federal Election Commission is calling for an investigation into Obama's campaign contributions claiming that up to $200m may be from illegal sources, much of it from foreigh sources.  The unnamed auditor claims to have found more than enough evidence of impropriety and has tried on four different occasions to get the Justice Department and FBI to begin an investigation.  So far, the feds have refused to act because any investigation of this type "would appear as a crimial investigation and could have some effect on the outcome of the election".  No kidding.  Do you think $200 million illegal dollars might effect the outcome of the election?
 
If similar questions were raised about the McCain campaign, do you think democrats would be howling for an investigation?  You bet!  Now, the GOP has finally filed an official complaint against the Obama campaign with the FEC claiming they are in violation of federal election laws by accepting donations that exceed legal limits for individuals and from foreign sources, some of which are likely to be enemies of this country.  But the republicans need to do more.  They need to weave this topic into every single conversation regarding Barack Obama.

In addition to receiving illegal campaign contributions, democrats in several states have been submitting phony voter registration documents.  They have forged the signatures of people on these documents, but they weren't smart enough to use different forgers. A large number of signatures were discovered to bear the same handwriting characteristics.  Try to imagine a small army of activists engaged in this fraudulent activity and you can see the potential for a stolen election.  If you're an American voter, ask yourself which one of those illegal votes cancelled yours?   The other question is: how much of this has gone undiscovered?
 
Obama moved his national campaign headquarters to Chicago where voter fraud is a foregone conclusion.  In fact, this entire election process has become a national joke.  Michelle Malkin has a great piece on this published on October 8th, 2008.  Between stuffing the ballot boxes, illegal campaign contributions and fraudulent voter registration, the democrats (socialists) are stealing our country.  This is nothing new, by the way.  Democrats with no ethics or conscience have been doing this stuff for decades.  And they want to run this country?!
 
There seems to be all kinds of underhanded and possibly even hugely criminal stuff taking place within the Obama campaign that the feds don't want to get involved with.  Think about that.  The grand theft of our country may be taking place right under our noses and those charged with protecting us don't want to get involved.  Amazing!  Even the issues that are being investigated may not yeild any results until after the damage has been done.
 
In addition to the sloth-like progress of the feds, the mainstream media has shown no interest in this at all.  They're too busy looking into real heavyweight issues, like whether or not Sarah Palin tried to get an abusive State Trooper fired.

Huh?!  After suffering through the second presidential debate, I'm considering a visit to the psyche ward and demanding a full frontal lobotomy - that is if I can't coax Jack Kevorkian out of retirement.
 
"What don't you know and how will you learn it?"  That was the final question asked via the internet from someone in New Hampshire
who obviously did inhale.  How this question qualified for a national platform in a debate of such magnitude is a mystery to me.  Oh yeah, I forgot, Tom Brokaw decided which questions would be asked.  Once again, the GOP stepped into the trap of allowing the enemy to control the discussion.
 
As Forrest Gump would say: "Stupid is as stupid does."

Governor Sarah Palin is being stalked by the MSM.  She is being set up to be the Dan Quayle of 2008 and the left thinks they have her in their sights.  Tonight's debate will be her best chance to disarm the big game hunters.  We should pray for her as she enters the enemy territory of Gwen Ifill.

Kos I Said So

Something remarkable is happening.  The Daily KOS is cleaning up it's act.  Most of the hate-filled vile spittle that typically comes from the KOS bloggers has been taken down from the website and there's a conspicuous absence of new hateful material being posted.  What's up with that - a change of heart?  Don't bet on it.
 
Some conservatives have a theory as to why the socialist website has changed it's ways.  The content typically is so disgusting and offensive that its been rallying support for the republicans leading to speculation that the site is now censoring posts from their usual subscribers.  Its been rumored that the Obama campaign has called on bloggers to tone down their remarks.  If it's true, that would be in keeping with standard liberal strategy of disguising who Obama and his followers really are.  The entire web is being sanitized of anything that could damage Obama's campaign.  The godless leftists and socialists are attempting to downplay the level of disrespect and utter hatred they have for America and especially anyone familiar with the Bible. The left is betting we have a short memory.
 
For years, bloggers on the left have posted terrible commentary leveled at republicans and conservatives.  Some of the most hateful and disgusting things imaginable have been part of the daily stench emanating from the sewer that is KOS.  Typically, charges against the targets of their hate are never substantiated with credible evidence and therefore are lies by default.  We shouldn't be too surprised as the truth is of no interest to the Marxist army threatening this nation.
 
Ah, but don't worry. There's still a bubbling cauldron of hate out there for anything conservative, capitalist and decent.  The lid may be on for now, but as we get closer to November 4th, the pot will boil over, especially if the republicans look strong going into the last few weeks of the contest.  New evidence of hardened hearts shouldn't be hard to find.  After all, the left can't open its mouth without spilling a bucket of bile and triggering the gag reflex in the rest of us. 
 
Obama's "lipstick on a pig" comment revealed the disrespect he has for Sarah Palin. Charles Rangle called Palin "disabled".  Michelle Obama chided us not to "vote for her because she's cute".  Good advice except for the condescending use of the word "cute".  "Cute" was intended as an insult.  "Cute" is what we call a child.  "Cute" is what the elitist Michelle Obama believes is Palin's only quality.  Comments of this nature reveal the spiteful and disrespectful attitude the left has for decency, but they pale in comparison to the attitudes of some of the rank and file.
 
Take Sandra Bernhard, for instance.  Bernhard, a so called "comedienne" recently warned Palin to stay out of Manhattan lest "she be gang raped by some of her big black brothers".  Her recent rant is available on NewsBusters where she called Palin a "b**ch" and a "wh*re" and demanded she not reference the "f***ing" Old Testament".  Now, that's what I'm talkin' about!  Nice, if you like projectile vomiting.  And there's no evidence she ever attend Jeremiah Wright's church.  Go figure. 
 
For them, Jesus died.  He said in Matthew 5:44: "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."  Just how hard is that? 
 
The remarks of people like Sandra Bernhard are disturbing and repulsive to me and it illustrates clearly the majesty of God's love for ALL.  But it also highlights my own corruption as well and the rest of the world can rejoyce in the fact that I'm not God.  I could not send my son to die for their sins.  I could not stand to see Him suffer mercilessly for their iniquities only to have them reject the gift of His sacrifice.  I would be angry.  I would not attempt to block their way on the road to hell, and in many cases, I might even speed up their journey. 
 
Yup, this is who they are - broken, bitter, angry and morally bankrupt.  We could go on all day about it, but I've gotta go. There's something in my eye.

Prospecting in Alaska

Democrats and left wing media outlets have dispatched a small army of prospectors to Alaska in search of gold.  The modern day version of gold is actually dirt, but it will be as good as gold to anyone lucky enough to muck up Sarah Palin's bid for Vice President.  The first to break a story that destroys the candidate would undoubtedly becom an instant icon to America haters.  It's safe to say they're feverishly digging in the hills and panning every stream in search of the antidote to Sarah Palin.
 
Of course, nothing is off limits to the hate America crowd.  They're one step away from adopting the methods of William Ayers to begin with, so we should be thankful this is only a war of words.  It could be much worse.  And if the republicans win in November, it probably will get worse.  After seeing what the hate driven media have done to Bush, Cheney and Rice, imagine what we can expect from a godless pack that finds no fault with attacking Sarah Palin's children.  Far left media jackals are among the most vicious and dangerous people in America.
 
Prepare for a mudslide as miners dig up gastly evidence of skeletal remains in Palin's back yard.  The discovery of any bone fragments will surely stir rumors that an illegal abortion was performed on Palin's daughter - possibly by Palin, herself.  DNA evidence released on November 5th will show the bone fragments were actually part of a field mouse, but that won't matter to the radical left.  To them, what happened doesn't matter.  What they think "could" have happened is what matters.  Winning is everything and they'll resort to even the most despicable means to achieve their goal.
 
Did Sarah Palin's third cousin, twice removed ever fish without a license?  MSNBC is probably on the case right now.  Democrats will demand parking tickets and documents of every description be turned over for a complete forensic examination.  Every member of Palin's family will be forced to accept a full media colonoscopy.
 
The media are trying to score with things like "Troopergate" where Palin alegedly tried to get her former brother-in-law fired from the State Police.  They don't seem to care much that the guy tazered his ten year old stepson though.  Getting fired is too good for this guy.  He should have been locked up too. 
 
And then there's the library non-scandal claiming Palin aledgedly tried to fire a librarian over some issue of censorship.  The indignant defenders of free speech are up in arms even though it's been disclosed that the question of censorship was a hypothetical one on the part of the governor.  Let's see, the Clintons fired how many people from the White House Travel Office?  Oh, that's right - that was different.  As usual, the hypocrisy of liberals defies logic or description.
 
Now the Alaskan legislature, lead by committed Obama supporters, is investigating Palin for possible ethics violations over "Troopergate" and hint of an "October surprise".  They suggest the governor might even face impeachment as a result of that investigation and intend to release the results on October 31st.  Pretty well timed, wouldn't you say?  Isn't that just the kind of filthy, gutter politics we've come to expect from democrats?  Glad I'm not one of them.
 
Democrats can't afford to talk about the real issues after two years of the "do nothing congress" that brought us four dollar gas. They are furious that McCain would beat them to the punch in selecting a woman as his running mate.  That he would have the audacity to select a pro-life conservative female drives the left into a rage and they are trying desperately to smear Palin.  Ben Franklin, in Poor Richard's Almanac once said:  "Take it from Richard, poor and lame, what's begun in anger ends in shame."
 
The fact that liberals hate Palin with such passion is evidence enough that she's the right person for the VP job.  Isaiah 57:20 says this:  "But the wicked are like the troubled sea; for it cannot rest, and it's waters cast up mire and dirt." 
 
Whether you strike it rich or not, there is one unavoidable consequence to digging in dirt - you get dirty.  Far left prospectors, rich in hatred, are selling their souls for a mother lode of fools gold.

Lip Shtick

Just one more comment about the great lipstick caper, as though there hasn't been enough said already.  There's no way of knowing what Obama was thinking when he made the "lipstick on a pig" comment, but the timing of the quote was ill advised and came across as if he intended it to be an insult to Sarah Palin.  Obama claims otherwise and offers a completely plausible explanation.  The problem is, the explanation came too late.
 
We can choose to believe either version, but there's one thing for certain.  Obama's audience thought they knew what he meant and they howled approvingly.  Like a Vaudeville comedian, soaking up the warmth of adoration, Obama chose not to clarify his comment.  He knew how his supporters took the punchline, but was too caught up in the love to backtrack.  He let them go ahead and believe what they wanted to believe and then fired back the next day with juvenile accusations of "phony outrage" on the part of those he offended. 
 
This whole incident says something about Obama's judgment and even more about the character of his supporters, many of whom think name calling is a legitimate campaign strategy.  And these people want to lead the free world?  I say: "Let the grown-ups do it".

Contrails

Today we mark the anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 2001 and honor those souls lost for only one reason.  They were Americans.  As we pay tribute to them, I'm reminded of the days immediately after 9-11and what a difference the attacks made on our national attitude.  We were civil to one another.
 
With profound sadness, we came together as a nation in support each other and we comforted each other.  Time stood still and we were suddenly not in such a hurry after all.  We stopped in traffic and let the other guy go ahead of us instead of competing for the same space in line.  We waved to each other and smiled as we made our way through the pain and disbelief of what had happened to us. 
 
For the first time in my memory, the crystal blue skies were clear of contrails.  Looking up, we saw only what God had created for us in the beginning.  It was different - clean and pure.
 
The American flag was on display everywhere.  They adorned houses, businesses, cars, trucks and anything else you could imagine.  We came together to weather the storm in the way Americans have done since this nation was born.  It was a special time - a time of reawakening the American spirit.
 
The deep sadness we felt brought us together as one and gave us an opportunity to reflect on how we should treat each other.  I miss that time when civility and respect ruled the day in our beloved country.  McCain and Obama have put aside partisan differences today in honor of the victims of the tragic events of September 11, 2001.  We should all do the same. 
 
May God bless America and give us all a new attitude of humility, respect and civility and love for one another.

Star of the DNC?

Those who think Barak Obama was the star of the Democratic National Convention could be mistaken.  The real star of the convenion might just be, well - a real star.
 
Some images stir the imagination more than others.  With thirty years in the sign/graphic design industry, I've become acutely aware that images convey a thought or emotion or promote a message of one kind or another.  And sometimes I can't help but wonder what the designers were thinking when they put together graphic logos to identify a product they're peddling.  Take for instance, the banners that adorned the Pepsi Center for the Democratic National Convention.
 
The banners draping the outside of the Pepsi Center featured a bright red star suspended over a multi-hued background image that appears to represent the Rockies.  Putting aside the Rocky Mountain High for a moment, we're left wondering if this image accurately defines the heart and soul of today's democratic party.
 
What comes to mind when you see a red star?  For those of us growing up in the Cold War Era, the red star is a symbol of Marxism and a threat to democracy.  The flag of the USSR displays a red star above the hammer and sickle.  Russian military vehicles of every description were identified by a big red star proudly on display even as they snuffed out millions of innocent lives.
 
Indeed, there are lterally hundreds of tragic cases of brutality that have been the result of people surrendering their liberty to those who promise to right every wrong.  History proves that yeilding to the nanny state ultimately leads to tyranny.
 
Wikipedia describes the red star as "a symbol of communism as well as broader socialism in general."  To paraphrase, it goes on to say: "The [red] star has become a symbol representing socialism of all varieties."  Would that be the DNC variety as well?

The author, Nikita Prokhorov, knows the significance of the symbol that has been associated with some of the most atrocious crimes against humanity in all of history.
 
Dutch brewer, Heineken currently uses a red star as part of its logo.  A Hungarian investors group actually sued Heineken in an effort to get the company to stop using the symbol of communism in this former Soviet Bloc country.  Not surprisingly, Heineken claims there's no connection to the red star of communism and its logo, but that means little to the Hungarians who suffered under the iron fisted Stalinists.  The red star, to them, is what the swastika is to Jews.
 
Now the democrats have adopted the red star symbol for reasons that aren't clear to most main stream Americans, but it is a cause for concern to some of us.  Either they knew what they were doing or they didn't.  Which one was it?  Does it matter?  You bet it does.  If the democratic party leadership knew what they were doing, that means they have endorsed the symbol of opression and the ideology of Karl Marx has been adopted as a core principle driving today's democratic agenda. 
 
We may have just witnessed the overt rebranding of the democratic party.  What's more, images of the Pepsi Center adorned with big red stars sent a not so subtle message to socialists around the world that they have a like minded sympathizer to root for and support in November.  No doubt the Democratic National Committee is anticipating a huge cash windfall as all those Chicago dishwashers, gardeners and domestic help of every description max out their $28,500 political contributions.  How do they do it in these tough economic times?

McCain's Play Fake

Obama's choice of running mate answered the question of Hillary's part in the grand scheme of all things democratic.  The message was clear. I am the nominee and you will support me.  John McCain should take a lesson from this attitude of arrogance.
 
Clinton people resent the fact that this young upstart has leap froged ahead of her for the biggest job in the world.  According to Rush Limbaugh, feminists around the country are reminded yet again of that glass ceiling and how the seasoned executive female is pushed aside in favor of the handsome, energetic young newcomer with the golden toungue.  And if that's not bad enough, passing over Clinton for the VP slot is inexcusable and unforgivable in the eyes of many.  Paris Hilton must still be wondering why Obama would choose "an old white-haired dude".
 
Biden's presence on the ticket may silence critics questionong Obama's experience, but it does little or nothing to unite a party deeply divided between race and gender.  Those who've fallen for the "change" line are wondering why the presidential nominee would choose a running mate who's spent nearly his entire adult life in Washington.  Clearly, Biden represents the status quo. 
 
Thirty years in congress gives Biden indisputably more experience over Clinton in just about any area other than lamp throwing.  Biden is certainly a heavyweight in the congressional ring and he has been steeped in foreign affairs for many years.  But Biden's presence adds nothing more than another layer of liberal elitism.  Moderate democrats have little in common with the extreme leftist views of the party's standard bearers who want to tell everyone else how to live their lives.
 
Recent pols indicate Obama has received no bump as a result of his VP choice.  There's a crack in the defense and it would seem like a perfect opportunity for the republican nominee to hit the hole at full speed, but don't get too excited.  McCain has yet to announce his running mate and there's no guarantee Senator Maverick won't fumble. 
 
The campaign has hinted that he might choose a pro-choice independent as hisVP running mate.  Joe Lieberman may be a friend of McCain's, but he's no friend of conservatives.  Lieberman would be a disaster for McCain and the GOP.  It's going to be tough enough to mobilize the base who don't trust McCain to begin with.  A pro-choice selection would doom the ticket.  The solid conservative base won't show up in November and there aren't enough disenfranchised Clinton supporters to make up the difference even if the candidate were Hillary, herself. 
 
The senator from Arizona would do well to select a running mate with solid conservative, pro-life credentials.  If that person were black or a woman, great!  But things like race and gender shouldn't matter.  Character and principles matter.  Conservatives know that.  The senator knows that too, but as we've seen so many times, McCain doesn't always like the play sent in from the sideline. 
 
Should he win, McCain will very likely be a one term president.  Looking ahead, McCain and the republican strategists should be drafting a player whom they can build into a solid contender for 2012.  We need to know there's a back-up quarterback who can not only step in and finish the game, but also carry the franchise beyond the McCain years.

Abortion and Racism

John McCain got a rousing applause from the Saddleback Church when he outlined his pro-life position during an interview with Rick Warren recently.  The presumptive democratic nominee (PDN) didn't fare as well. The crowd stood silent as he wandered around his pro-abortion territory. Understanding when life begins is above the PDN's "pay grade" according to his own words.  McCain believes life begins at the moment of conception.  The contrast between these two candidates on abortion is as clear as black and white.  What's most interesting though, is the democratic nominee seems to have no sense of how his position endangers the black race.
 
Margaret Sanger, was a committed racist who long ago supported abortions for black women.  She also advanced the idea of sterilizing black men.  Sanger believed the collective intellect, character and fiber of America would be watered down if blacks were allowed to multiply and flourish.  Sanger didn't get to send  blacks off to the gas chambers and ovens, like Hitler did to Jews, but there's little doubt she would have if given the chance.  Instead, she gave birth to a different version of the "final solution" - Planned Parenthood.  She is its founder. So, why does this matter?
 
It's important to know that blacks make up about twelve percent of US population, yet they are responsible for thirty seven percent of all abortions performed in this country every year.  That is a stunningly disproportionate number that begs a question. Why?  Granted, there are many social and economic reasons for this, but the calculated placement of Planned Parenthood abortion clinics in and around poor urban neighborhoods with highly concentrated minority populations certainly comes into play.  Quick accsess to abortions surely makes the "decision" easier. Add public funding to the mix and you have a formula for state sponsored genocide. 
 
One of the most vile underground opinions favoring Sanger's method is the idea that it keeps welfare costs down.  The position stems from the idea that most black babies born out of wedlock in the US become enroled in the system by default.  Some say Planned Parenthood is doing a fiscally good thing for the country as a byproduct of the service they provide.  I suggest the only service provided is service to the devil.
 
Not long ago, Planned Parenthood was caught on tape accepting a contribution from a person posing as a racist and seeking assurance that the donation would be used to fund only a black abortion. The PP representative seemed only too eager to accomodate the donor.  How, in the name of God, does anyone not understand the sinister nature of this organization?  
 
Aparently, the word of God isn't enough to guide the moral principles of  the candidate who claims to be a Christian.  What's more surprising is the PDN doesn't even recognize the blatant racism he unwittingly endorses.  The man seems clueless as to how he's supporting the resolute strategy of those white elitists happy to accommodate pregnant black women encouraged to slaughter their own unborn babies. The Klan must be rejoycing at the irony of it all.

The Kingdom vs. Mr. Hood

As a kid growing up in the 1950s and 60s, one of my favorite TV shows was Robin Hood. It was very entertaining watching the Sheriff of Nottingham being out witted by the clever Robin Hood and his band of merry men.  It wasn't until years later that I understood the message that was beamed into our living rooms every week.
 
We thought of Mr. Hood as a champion of the people, always coming out in defense of the downtrodden and never recognized the sinister methods he employed.  His legacy is that he "stole from the rich and gave to the poor".  How did we miss the operative word, "stole"?  This legendary folk hero was a thief - a well intentioned thief, but a thief none the less.
 
Mr. Hood is far from the virtuous hero presented by Hollywood.  He and his cadre of armed henchmen held up wealthy travelers unlucky enough to pass through their part of Sherwood Forest.  They were committing armed robbery.  Glorifying criminal behavior like this is certainly not a message we should be sending to our children unless you want weekly visitation with them at the local jailhouse.
 
It's also interesting how the responsibility of the poor is excused in the matter of  the Kingdom vs. Mr. Hood.  They were guilty of receiving stolen property and conspiring to conceal evidence.
 
The legendary tale of Mr. Hood sets up the metaphorical struggle between good and evil in the purest sense relative to moral character.  That's where so many of us fall off the wagon.  The fact that we're broken and corrupt to begin with is more than sufficient evidence of our need to turn to the instruction manual when things go wrong.
 
The Bible says: "You shall not steal".  (Socialist disclaimer: except in cases where the party of the first part is perceived to have been injured by the party of the second part or some social injustice, real or imagined, may have occurred, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah.)
 
The Left embraces an entitlement mentality which overrides common sense and Biblical teachings by promoting actions that will cause us to forfeit our salvation for a handout.  Here's a news flash. We all believe in entitlements.  Capitalists believe they're entitled to what they earn.  Socialists believe they're entitled to what someone else earns.  The socialist ideal is built on class envy and resentment for those who have been blessed economically.  Envy is bad enough, but things get particularly ugly when it builds a case for demonizing the producers to justify stealing the fruits of their labor.
 
Such is the strategy of the presumptive democratic presidential candidate who recently announced his latest plan for modern day income redistribution.  He plans to give "deserving" families a thousand dollars and he intends to fund this scheme with revenues stolen from oil companies.  Robin Hood has nothing on this guy.  Our presumptive democratic nominee has conspired to take, by force, that which does not belong to him and give it to those who did nothing to earn it.  This is the very essence of socialism - a crime by any other name. 
 
Attitudes of envy and resentment aren't considered virtuous according to the Bible and cannot possibly receive the blessing of the King of Kings.  We're supposed to celebrate the good fortune of others and be happy for them.  1 Corinthians 13:4 says: "Love is not jealous".  Well, if love is not jealous, what is?  If envy is not of God, then where does it come from?
 
The evil one tempts us to abandon our faith in God's providence in favor of our own methods of reconciling differences with others. The one who despises all things good, also calls us to stop being thankful for God's blessings.  God alone is the provider of all we have - not us, not the nanny state, not the presidential candidates, God.  Lining up for your illbegotten cut of the action will buy not one second of His favor.
 
Although the socialist leanings of the presumptive democratic nominee are an affront to my sensibilities, I'm even more insulted that the perp thinks he can buy my vote for a thousand bucks.  He'll snag a lot of suckers with that bait, but I'm not one of them.  I will not sell my country out for any price.  Furthermore, I choose not to become an accessory to grand theft, extortion, bribery and racketeering, thank you very much, Mr. Hood.

Fourth and Goal in the GW Bowl

A growing number of scientists are at odds with their colleagues regarding the causes of climate change, but mouthpieces for the environmental movement continue to insist the debate over global warming is closed.  They say: "Scientists have weighed in." and "There's no need for further debate."  In other words, game over - you lose.  Nonsense! 
 
The very idea that we can cut off scientific debate flies in the face of true science.  Science is advanced by the free and open exchange of ideas, limited only by our imagination, available methods and wisdom of the day.  Scientific theories are constantly being confirmed or busted via the discovery of new evidence.  Things we believe to be true today may not be so tomorrow.
 
For instance, after thirty years of CFC hysteria, scientists now believe that growing holes in the ozone are the result of a weakening of earth's magnetic field.  Studies confirm the field is ten percent weaker than it was in the mid eighteen hundreds when they first started tracking it.  These changes are caused by magma moving beneath earth's crust driven by the tremendous heat energy at the planet's core.  This force is so powerful that earth's magnetic field has actually reversed polarity many times in our planet's history.
 
Most recently, core samples from polar ice millions of years old have given researchers reason to believe that rising levels of co2 may not cause global warming.  They suggest the opposite may indeed be the case - that global warming causes an increase of co2.  Is it possible that Al Gore had this backwards all along?  You bet it is.  And for a tidy little profit, I might add.
 
Another recent discovery of volcanic activity on the ocean floor deep beneath the Arctic ice has given birth to the idea that melting ice could be the result of hot magma warming the sea water.  Environmentalists don't want to hear it, but this theory is quite plausible and shouldn't be discarded out of hand, especially since ice in the Antarctic has increased in mass.  Too bad for polar bears, but penguins gain in this real estate exchange.
 
The truth is, variations in earth's temperature are caused by forces of nature with unimaginable, universal power.  Among those are cosmic radiation, fluctuations in the sun's energy output, the tilt of earth's axis and inconsistent orbit around the sun, just to name a few.  I, for one, can't wait to hear how environmentalists plan to fix these problems. 
 
In 2007, there was a proposal in California that would give an energy czar the power to regulate home thermostats via remote control.  The idea was to reduce the load during "emergency" periods.  Without new power sources coming on line, increased regulation would be necessary as growth continues.  Does this sound like the American way to you?  I find the word "czar" offensive.
 
The measure was withdrawn in response to protests from angry consumers, but we'd be naive to think big brother could resist similar regulatory methods in our future.  After all, government never met a problem it couldn't make worse.
 
Now, Great Britain has begun to consider issuing carbon credits to its citizens that would limit the amount of energy one could consume over the course of a year.  Here's a tip for venture capitalists.  Invest in bicycle related industries.  This absurd regulatory approach is just one small wave in the rising tide of eco-socialist schemes being prepared for the purpose of washing away the American way of life.
 
The global warming crowd is pushing hard to defeat America.  They've had a thirty year head start and now think their goal is in sight.  They sound like the high pressure salesman who uses every dirty trick at his disposal in coercing us to sign on before we can figure out what this unholy alliance will really cost. This is a recipie for buyers remorse if ever there was one.
 
There are far too many questions and doubts about the claims of global warming alarmists to grant climate cops power to dictate US energy policy.  Let the debate continue.  To do otherwise virtually guarantees an erroneous conclusion unfavorable to this nation and that is absolutely unacceptable.  
 
Ending the debate makes as much sense as stopping the Super Bowl in the middle of a crucial play and declaring a winner based on which team's cheerleaders are making the most noise at the time.

Don't Put Away the Sword Just Yet

Heading into the third consecutive week of falling gas prices, Americans are breathing a collective sigh of relief.  Though we may be feeling a little less pain at the pump, it would be foolish of us to think this is over.  We'd be much wiser to recognize this latest gas gouge for what it really is - a preview of things to come.
 
In the midst of all the talk about energy alternatives, oil seems to have taken on a life of it's own, complete with survuval instincts and psychological makeup.  It stalks, attacks, retreats and waits, regaining strength for the next opportunity to begin the cycle again.  We've begun to see oil as something to be feared, like an enemy that has outmaneuvered us.  But the enemy isn't oil.  The enemy is foreign oil and the best short term defense is to become more self reliant by increasing our domestic oil supply.
 
Rolling over for the oil cartel means certain death. Too bad most house and senate democrats and some republicans seem to be OK with that.  Thankfully, a growing number of Americans are beginning to disagree vociferously.
 
Energy policy driven by environmental radicals is increasingly being rejected on the reality of four dollar a gallon gas.  That magic number seems to be the tipping point where consumers get mad.   Having reached the threshhold at which we're willing to fight back, the oil threat has retreated slightly inviting us to stand down.  If this sly enemy had a voice, it might be saying: "Hey, this was all a big misunderstanding. There's no need to start drilling. Everything is OK."  I guess we're now supposed to think three buck gas is fine and there's no real need for a call to arms.  Big mistake.  This isn't a time to stand down. This is the time to stand up and grab your scabbard.
 
This thing, which has shown an ability to kill the host that gives it life, is like a cancer on America's backside. It may seem to be in remission, but this is not the time to relax.  We need to continue to press our government to do the right thing for the sake of our economy and national security.  This problem isn't going away and our best strategy is to advance while the enemy is backpedaling.
 
It's been noted here that the recent drop in oil prices is in part the result of President Bush lifting of the ban on offshore drilling.  Others say a decrease in demand is the reason.  Consumers have opted for staying closer to home rather than being fleeced at every gas station.  That's fine too.  It only further demonstrates the power of the free market.
 
Congress, so far, has refused to take the necessary steps to secure energy independence leaving American families seated squarely beneath this modern day "Sword of Damocles".  They have forgotten that their power is granted by "consent of the people" and rebelled much the same way an adolescent disrespects parental authority.
 
I learned early on that an insolent child's attitude could be realigned with the stars through the power of a stinging backhand.  That's what we need to deliver to entrenched Washington lifers living under our roof who continually resist the will of the people while lining their pockets with special interest loot.  They need a slap that'll launch them into a different career.
